I’ve seen enough to take seriously the warnings about properly grounding a K40 laser . . . but it would sure help me if someone could post some PICTURES or video which demonstrates the proper way to ground a K40 laser.02/19/2018 at 9:40 AM #1715TechBravoTNKeymaster
I can make a more detailed video but basically if you meter your chassis and power supply grounds to the ground lug (the round one) on the 3 prong plug on the machines power cord you are fairly safe. That said, the lids, covers, etc… may not have continuity to chassis ground due to paint, etc… I suppose some ground straps could be added to covers, etc…
The laser is only one half of the equation. Assuming your laser has sufficient grounding, you electrical system that its plugged into matters. If your grounding is sub-par then it is a moot point. If your electrical system is up to code then you should be okay.
