With LaserWeb on a Smoothieboard (& possibly other controllers) you can perform variable power raster engraves (or simply speaking, greyscale engraves).
So, to begin with you need to calibrate your White & Black balance (in LaserWeb settings) in order to get a good contrast between the varying levels of colour.
I've created myself a calibration image to assist with this process (showing 0-100% colour in 5% increments).
